The rain before the flood…

On Monday, October 3rd, I am moving to Washington, DC. Let me ask and answer some questions everyone might have:

1. “have you ever been to the East Coast?” Of course not, in fact, until recently I thought Boston was near Ohio, the state in which the city is located was also a mystery.

2. “What are you doing in DC?” I am working at an Urban Ministry called the Southeast White House. It’s four miles from the nations capital, on the same street. Can you say protest?

3. “What would you protest?” Oh, things like how Bush always has his damn sleeves rolled up. Who the hell does he think he is, obviously not the president of the “free” world.

Anyway, I hope that answers some of your questions. I will write more about what I am doing once I get out there and find out what I am doing.

As for now, I am concentrating on this little test I am taking on Saturday called the LSAT, I think it stands for the LONG SAT. And then I am packing up my trusty rusty car and DRIVING ACROSS THE DAMN COUNTRY BY MYSELF. Good luck not getting a phone call from me midway through Nebraska.

I will keep you posted on the events of the trip and the events of life this coming year. I hope that this blog can be informative on how the overlooked part of Washington, DC lives, so if something bad happens in DC like it did in New Orleans, you will have heard something about the forgotten people in DC before Anderson Cooper is in DC telling us about the plight of the local k-9’s. I also hope that this blog gives people hope and encouragement to step out in their faith and find the best way to engage in kingdom work.

  1. Kevin,

Glad to hear about what you are doing. You are welcome to give me a call halfway through Nebraska, that would be just fine…
